Louis Theroux
Just watched Louis Theroux: A Place For Paedophiles. Spending time with those in rehabilitation, our hero wrestles with whether he can ever allow himself to believe the words of men whose history is defined by deceit. He was SO amazing, as usual.
I think this was one of my favourites, although the gangsta rap one and the swingers one are still top.

Guinea Pigs layout
Ok, following on from my previous post, I have a new layout! Guinea pigs, using art from the amazing Nut and Bee illustrations.
And yes, there is still no 'older entries' link. I have no idea. Maybe Blogger just doesn't give one!

An introduction to Bright Eyes and Conor

Here we go... some varied Bright Eyes goodies:
Lila -This is off the excitingly named first album- A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997.
June on the West Coast This is off Letting Off the Happiness-and they really were letting off the last of the happiness because the next proper album is completely depressing...
...It is called Fevers and Mirrors. This is one of my favourite albums, and I really like this track,
A Scale, a Mirror, and These Indifferent Clocks
but the whole album is a downer! There is a pretend radio interview that features some man from The Faint doing an impression of Conor being DEEP in an interview, which is good cos it shows they can take the mick out of themselves! "It was a way to make fun of ourselves because the record is such a downer. I mean, that's one part of who I am but I also like laughing and fucking around." :)
Their next album was Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground, my FAVOURITE! Bowl of Oranges Bowl of Oranges is my favourite track, but it has some crazy tinkly piano nonsense after the music has stopped. Deep. Also maybe their most famous song is on it- Lover I Don't Have To Love. I also love Waste of Paint. . I could send the whole album but I think that's enough! Really this is totally their best album.
Next, they toured with REM and Bruce Springsteen and went crazy and released two albums on the same day cos they're proper mad like that innit. I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. The best off Wide Awake are Lua, First Day Of My Life, We Are Nowhere, And It's Now, and Another Travelin' Song. Digital Ash is good too, probably the best is Take It Easy (Love Nothing)- you can tell they'd been spending time with The Faint when they wrote it though. I like Ship in a Bottle too.
Ok that's enough I think. Here is one very sad rare live one called It's Cool, We Can Still Be Friends. You can hear him crying :(
Ok and one more thing- this is one from his newish band, my favourite track off the album Outer South. Their lyrics are still kill-yourself-cos-you're-too-deep-for-the-world, but delivered in a much more merry way.

Katy Perry

I am still alive, although I have lost the will to update this it seems- I suppose this was a great blow to the, er, two and at most three, people who read it.
I will get my act together!
I still live for Katy Perry. She has new photos out on her Myspace from some photoshoot this week and they are even more of an inspiration to me than normal, because her hair is wild and like she just got out of bed- story of my life.
